Collaborative Law is the latest form of Alternative Dispute Resolute (ADR) in Family Law.
The most common type of ADR, Mediation, is now well established but it is not for everyone. A number of clients want to work cooperatively with their former partner and also with the benefit of advice from their own Solicitor.
In response, we have decided to offer a Collaborative Law service and Helen Jackson will shortly be training as a Collaborative Lawyer.
In Collaborative Law, the parties agree not to litigate. Issues are addressed in a series of meetings with both parties working together with their Lawyers. If advice is needed from other experts, such as Accountants, they are instructed jointly.
The process facilitates and encourages direct communication between the parties, saving time and usually money as well.
