On 7 February 2007, 1st Solicitors were pleased to sponsor an award at the annual Stafford Borough Council Sports Awards held at Staffordshire University, Stafford campus.

Local sports men and women were nominated throughout the year in the Staffordshire Newsletter and there were various categories. 1st Solicitors were asked to present an award for the Community Club of the Year which went to Stafford Town Football Club. They were chosen for the contribution they had made to developing local coaching and training facilities and catering for both males and females, of all ages, from juniors through to adults.

Stafford Town Football Club now operate eleven teams, playing competitive football at all levels. A great amount of work has been done to put the club on a sound financial footing and is planning to develop its own ground and stadium.

Nigel Rostance presented the award to Gordon Evans who received the trophy on behalf of Stafford Town Football Club.
